Michael Young’s multi-dimensional career has taken him from Performer, to Producer & Businessman. For 20 years he was a multiple award winner as host / star of some of television’s most innovative programs. Michael’s on-camera career spanned network and local broadcast TV, as well as helping to launch many of today’s favorite cable networks.
When Michael went behind the camera to produce television he again was an innovator creating formats and financing models winning critical and financial acclaim. In the 1990’s he sold his first company to Madison Avenue giant The Interpublic Group. In 2002 he created yet another company and financing model for TV working in partnership with publishers such as Condé Nast and Meredith among others.

A 1994 front-page Wall Street Journal article hailed Michael’s innovative TV financial model at Alton Entertainment with the headline “Is it a TV Show? Is it Advertising? Answer: Both”. The article went on to report “Viewers won’t know who paid for time on Main Floor until the credits roll”. Michael’s new media programing provided the platform to launch 19 websites for Alton and it national clients.
In 1996 Michael sold Alton Entertainment to The Interpublic Group, the world’s largest multi-national Advertising and Public Relations Company [NYSE:IPG].
Notwithstanding his TV credentials, Michael is no stranger to the stage. In 1977 he co-produced a show for Broadway written by Oscar™ winner Howard Ashman, entitled The Confirmation and starring Broadway legend Hershel Bernardi. He has produced numerous conventions for corporate clients - with speakers such as the President of the United States, Walter Cronkite, Cal Ripkin, Jr…. and concerts with acts such as the Beach Boys, Foreigner, Wayne Newton, Kool & The Gang. In 2011 he co-founded Theos Theatricals (www.theostheatricals.com) to produce inspirational theater beginning with The Forgotten Carols.
As a celebrity board member of the USO, Michael produced and hosted 7 “Celebrity Road Shows” entertaining our troops in remote locations worldwide - often with funds he solicited on behalf of the USO from billionaire H. Ross Perot. Michael’s shows included a diverse group of stars ranging from Laugh-In’s Ruth Buzzi to Oscar Winner Halle Berry. Michael received numerous citations from The Department of Defense for his work.
Michael also had an ongoing advisory relationship with PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) in Los Angeles since its inception in 1980, and in 2001 received their Crystal Heart Award. PATH is today one of the largest private/public funded homeless organizations in the US.
Michael has a degree from Auburn University in Political Science and Mass Communications, and currently serves on the College of Liberal Arts “Dean’s Advisory Board”. He has also been a consultant to Auburn President Jay Gogue, helping to identify business opportunities (such as Auburn’s world renown vapor wake dog program) and promote unique services from various academic departments.
Michael is married to Dr. Stephanie Gardner, MD and is proud to help her raise three wonderful children Andrew, Adam and Abby.
